About our residence-style pottery-making facility

We are delighted to announce that we are now accepting applications for 2025.

Home of Clay Art (HO-CA) is a residence-style pottery-making facility that was launched in 2012 with a grant from the Tajimi City Government’s Community Development Activity Subsidy Fund.

Visitors can get away from their daily lives and spend time making pottery in the “ceramic town of Tajimi”.

The courses are based on a one-month stay for everyone from beginners to advanced students, and offers a wide range of courses, from basic instruction to more difficult techniques, to suit the skills and objectives of each individual. The “Porcelain Course” is for intermediate level students and above.

Since the retreats establishment, around 205 guests (as of November 2024), mainly from overseas, have stayed here so far. Many guests and repeaters have heard of us by word of mouth or through referrals from those who have stayed at the school, and our instruction has been very well received.
